Golf Shoes
A pair of
golf shoes with little spikes on the bottom is
ultimately the best way to facilitate good footing
during the golf swing.
Beginners can play
in a nice pair of gym shoes with modest tread on the bottom. Some
tread is helpful in keeping one's feet from twisting out of position
on the ground On the other hand, too much tread could damage the
greens.
A pair of golf shoes
with little spikes on the bottom is ultimately the best way to
facilitate good footing during the golf swing. The type of shoes
bough, in my opinion, is mainly a matter of style and preference, as
most golf shoes on the market today seem to be built more for riding
in golf cars than for walking. That is, few shoes, if any, on the
market seem to have the supportive construction or overall quality
necessary to provide comfort and durability over many rounds of
walking the golf course. Basically, when you start shopping for golf
shoes, expect to find stylish dress shoes on the shelves. If waling
is the intended mode of transportation around the course, I suggest
inserting personal orthotics in your golf shoes for support. Also,
if you walk the course several times per week, expect to replace in
your golf shoes every year or so. On the more optimistic side, as
more and more people insist on walking when they play, manufacturers
will come out with golf shoes offering better support and more
durable construction.
