Golf Gloves
Wearing a
golf glove may still be desirable for enhancing the hold
on the club.
Whether leather,
rubber, cord, or the new synthetic grips are used, wearing a golf
glove may still be desirable for enhancing the hold on the club. A
single golf glove is customarily worn on the golfer's leading hand,
the hand closest to the target when the golfer is standing next to
the ball. Both hands should be solidly on the club, but it is
particularly important that there be no slippage in the leading
hand, since it is the appendage which provides the golf swing with
direction. In contrast, the following hand, the one farthest from
the target, provides power which can suffer a little more error than
can direction.
