Oslo Golf Club, Norway and Paltamo Golf Club (Midnight Sun), Finland

Oslo Golf Club - Norway

Oslo Golf Club, the oldest course in Norway, is situated in the parkland of Bogstad. The course borders Bogstad Lake with a backdrop of the hills that are home to the Holmennkollen ski jump arena. The signature 16th hole plays across the watery tongue of the lake. Opened in 1924, Oslo started as a nine-hole course with sand greens. The club was originally named Kristiania Golf Club, but changed its name when the city changed its name to Oslo.

Paltamo Golf Club (Midnight Sun) - Finland

Paltamo Golf Club, also known as Midnight Sun, is located in the small village of Paltamo, overlooking Oulu Lake in northern Finland. Designed by Americans Ronald Fream and David Dale of Golfplan, the course opened in 1991, with the final five holes completed in 2000. The course is girded by the lake, one of the largest in Finland, and ringed with Arctic birch. The town of Oulu, 100 miles to the west, is the capital of northern Finland, and is the home of the Oulu Golf Club founded in 1962. The current 27-hole Oulu Course, also designed by Golfplan, opened in 1992, with the third nine completed in 2004. From the beginning of June to the middle of July, the midnight sun allows golfers to play all night long.
