Lahad
Datu Golf & Country Club's 18 hole golf course can
proudly claim to be the first all-Bermuda golf course in
Sabah when opened for play in 1994. Set amidst a matured
oil palm estate which is prone to flooding during the
monsoon periods, the course was designed to adopt the
contours of the land and to be environmentally friendly.
It
is dotted with many ponds and traversed by natural
streams which add to the challenge of this 6325m Par
layout. It also boasts of the longest Par- 5 of 608m.
Anyone playing the course for the first time will be
amazed by the varied refrain of the layout and the
beauty of its setting. The signature hole is the short
17th island green where the tee shot has to land on a
narrow strip of 'plateau' before one can attack the
green 30m below and surrounded by a stream.
The large Clubhouse offers varied
facilities for golfers to indulge in if not playing golf
The swimming pool can cater to the family's recreational
needs. The Golfers' Patio serves local food and can
cater for large parties (500++) in the Conference I
Banquet Hall. 6 Clubhouse suit rest are available to
members or guests who wish to experience hotel stay in a
natural rustic setting. Though off the beaten track for
travelers, a visit to this Club will prove a worthwhile
experience and challenge for any golfer.
