What was once a 130 acre hilly
rugged and rocky jungle, Bukit Jambul Country Club has
established itself as one of Malaysia's top golf clubs.
The golf course is at a strategic location which has
made it one of the most popular tournament venues in the
region. It is within a growing township, adjacent to the
Equatorial Hotel, Penang and 10 minutes away from the
Penang International Airport.
Bukit
Jambul Country Club boasts a stunning 18-hole 5,763
meters, par 72 golf course designed by Robert Trent
Jones Jr. A favorite among tourists, it features many
unusual and challenging holes, and is reputed as the
most challenging and tightest course in the region.
Shots must be carefully placed and well executed to
avoid the many rocky passages and dense jungle which
surround the fairways and greens. Many of the elevated
tees provide beautiful views of the Island, so
enchanting they'll make you forget the demands of the
course. Probably the most famous is the 10th, with its
tee-box perched hundreds of meters above the fairway on
the valley floor. From here, there is also an impressive
view of the second nine against the backdrop of the 8km
Penang Bridge.
Besides golfing, you'll find
interesting alternatives at the beautiful clubhouse
where a variety of recreational and entertainment
facilities await such as an Olympic-size Swimming Pool,
all-weather Tennis Court, Squash Court, Gymnasium,
Library, Restaurant, Banquet Hall, Pro-shop and a 32-bay
Driving Range. So next time you're in Penang, head for
the Bukit Jambul Country Club Or a great golfing
experience.
