Designed by Pete Dye. This is a classic Dye design
with pot bunkers, large greens, and some, but not an
overabundance of railroad ties. Large, undulating,
and firm greens make this course a challenge.
Golfers need to be 90 yards or closer to hold these
greens. The player who is hitting from 150 yards out
is going to be in for a long day. Water comes into
play on more than half the holes. Carts and range
balls are included in the green fees. Resort guests
receive a 35% discount. From downtown Los
Angeles (about 120 miles east to the course): Take
I-10 east, exit onto Ramon Street and turn right.
Turn left on Bob Hope and then right on Dinah Shore
Drive.

Designed by Gary Player. This is a
very playable resort course. The Player Course has
plenty of water, but it can easily be avoided by
most golfers. It has more than enough length to be
challenging, and is exposed to the desert wind. From downtown Los Angeles (about 120 miles east to
the course): Take I-10 east, exit at Ramon Road, and
turn right. Gary Player believes that a shot
well struck to a green should give you a birdie
putt, so there are no mountainous undulations on the
greens. They are well kept and run true. Landscaping
has grown in over the years to make the course more
natural. The only downside is that every time we
play, there seems to be a lot of construction,
which distracts from some natural beauty. The course
is playable for all handicaps.
