Designed by Robert Muir Graves. Twin Lakes is lined with trees that can affect your shots. The pro shop gives sound advice on how to play this course: "Keep up with the group in front of you." From Santa Barbara (about seven miles northwest to the course): Drive north on US 101 to the Fairview exit. Drive west to the course.

Designed by Ted Robinson. The front nine is narrow, with out-of-bounds lurking for the player who hits the ball long and right. The back nine is more spacious. Throughout your round, you will encounter well-placed traps, undulating greens, and water. Carts are included and mandatory. From San Diego (about 30 miles north to the course): Take I-15 north to Highway 78 west. Exit at Twin Oaks Valley Road and head north for two miles. The course is on the right. Twin Oaks was tough enough for us to enjoy and easy enough for the high handicapper. Watch out for the ninth hole - it is on the side of the hill.
