Designed by Fred Eastwood. This is a short course with plenty of trees, tight, rolling fairways, and small greens. Water comes into play on four holes and out-of-bounds on another three. Views of the Trinity Alps abound. From Redding (about 45 miles west to the course): Off I-5, take Highway 299 west to Weaverville. Take Glen Road and drive south. Turn left on Fairway Drive to the course.

 

Green fees at $25/22 for all day golf, weekends and weekdays, respectively. $15/13.50 for 9 holes, weekends and weekdays. Course was renovated completely, new bentgrass greens installed, and much tree removal and altering of the bunkers has taken place.

 

TULARE GOLF COURSE (1957)

Designed by Bob Baldock. This is a level, open course. The front nine has elevated, greens that make a good wedge essential. The greens throughout the course are on the smaller side, and water comes into play on ten holes. From within Tulare: Off Highway 99, take Avenue 200 east. Turn left on South Laspina. The course is on the right. Why didn't anyone tell me about this course before? This is about as good as you could make a flat course. The conditions aren't perfect but overall a great value and fun track.
