Designed by William P. Bell. The North Course is the
shorter and the easier of the two courses. The South
Course is probably the best known of San Diego
courses, due to the PGA Tour stop. The course is
relatively roomy, exposed to the wind, with small,
well-guarded greens and sweeping vistas of the
Pacific. The yardage listed is for the
South Course. From San Diego (about 12 miles
north to the course): Take I-5 north, exit at
Genesee Avenue and head west. Keep to the right;
this turns into North Torrey Pines Road. Stay on
this and follow the green signs for the golf course.
This is a busy course, and its reputation as an
excellent facility is well deserved. Getting onto Torrey Pines, however, is no easy task.

Designed by Mark 0' Meara, Chris Gray. Scenic vistas
and more than 1,200 beautiful oaks highlight this
property that features wide fairways and gently
sloping greens. Bowled fairways and greens tend to
be forgiving, but don't discount a strong finishing
stretch beginning at the 14th hole. Use of
range and cart are included in green fees. Although
you can't carry your own bag, you can walk using a
power walking cart. From Los Angeles: Take I-5
North to Valencia Blvd. Turn left and follow
Valencia Blvd. into Westridge and turn left on
Heritage View Lane. Take the second left into
clubhouse parking lot. Not overbearing, but
scenic, fun, and challenging enough to keep your
attention
- a
good bet.
