THE LINKS AT BODEGA
HARBOUR
(1977)
NORTH COAST REGION
Semi-Private - 18
hole - cost:
$30
-
$75
21301 Heron Drive. Bodega Bay, CA 94923
Tel: (707) 875-3538
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course is
bipolar. The front nine is a demanding, hilly,
links-style course with few flat lies. The back nine
is more open off the tee, with subtle elevation
changes. The course is well manicured, with
spectacular ocean views, tricky greens and a coastal
breeze. Stay-and-play packages are available.
Check their website for email specials. From San
Francisco (about 65 miles northwest to the course):
Take US 101 north to Petaluma. Exit at East
Washington Street and head west toward Valley Ford,
Bodega Bay and Highway 1. Go north on Highway 1.
Make a left on South Harbor Way and then a right on
Heron Drive. Drive time is about 30 minutes from
Petaluma. This should be on everyone's must-play
list. The last three holes are spectacular. However,
on the front side, you can be penalized for hitting
a
good
shot. Walking (climbing) the front nine is nearly
impossible. The back side is just the opposite. You
will either love or hate this course, but you won't
forget it.
THREE RIVERS GOLF

Designed by Robert Dean Putman. Except for one hole,
Three Rivers is a fairly level course, with water
coming into play on two holes.
From Visalia (about 33 miles northeast to the
course): Take Highway 198 east to Three Rivers. The
course is adjacent to the highway. A neat nine-holer
on the way to Sequoia Park with decent greens and a
few elevated tees. The course is short but fun.
