Designed by Bob Baldock. This course has water on ten holes, spacious fairways, and hard, fast greens in the summer months. The traps are all in front, left and right, so it is better to be long than short. Trees come into play if you miss the fairways by the slightest margin. To avoid being under a tree, make sure your errant shots are bad enough to reach the hard pan or another fairway. From Chico (about 25 miles southeast to the course): Drive south on Highway 99 and then east on Highway 162. Follow Highway 162 to Oroville and the course.

Designed by Mae Webb Dunn. Set in the mountains, this is a short course that derives its challenge from narrow fairways and hard-to-read greens. The course affords excellent views of Lake Tahoe from almost everywhere on the course. From Truckee (about 15 miles south to the course): Off I-80, take Highway 89 south. Just past the only light in Tahoe City, the course is on the left.
