Designed by Jack Nicklaus. Views of the lake and mountains, plus a solid challenge, make this one of the better private club layouts in the Las Vegas area. From the Las Vegas Airport (about 19 miles east to the course): Take I-215 east, which turns into Lake Mead Drive. Turn left at the Lake Las Vegas sign. Turn right at the first stop sign, to the security gate. Nothing short of a spectacular hillside Nicklaus course that you should definitely play if invited.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, Tom Watson, Sandy Tatum. Golfers seem to either love or hate this links-style course, which affords wonderful views. The problem for some is that most of the holes are not framed by trees and give no perspective or easy clues where to hit. If you prefer dialit-in park-setting golf, the mystery and host of shot options at Spanish Bay will frustrate and bedevil you. Caddies are available. From within Monterey: Take the Pebble Beach exit off Highway 1. Follow the signs to the Pebble Beach gate. The guard gives further directions from there. It's not cheap, but play it at least once if you can. The service is first rate, and we enjoy the fact that the course evokes such strong emotions.
