Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, Robert Trent Jones Sr. This is one of only three collaborations between Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Jr. With their knowledge of golf course design and a budget that most facilities only dream of, they have turned Southern Highlands into an elegant facility. There are constant elevation changes and creeks lined with rocks that guard several greens. For the good player, the is a risk-and-reward layout. For the regular country club player, the course looks intimidating, but allows players many bail-out areas. From the Las Vegas Airport (about nine miles southwest to the course): Go south on I-15 and then west on Saint Rose Parkway. Follow the signs north to the Southern Highlands entrance. This ostentatious presentation features a lavishly bunkered layout that will test anyone. This club has the reputation for some big betting games in town.

Designed by Cal Olson. This is two distinct golf courses in one. The front nine is a links-style course with plenty of water. The back nine is a punishing mountain course, with steep hills and narrow landing areas. From Yuba City (about 14 miles west to the course): Off Highway 99, take Highway 20 west. After Acacia and two big warehouses, turn right on Southridge. When this dead­ends, turn right on South Butte Road. The course entrance is on the left.
