Designed by Bob Baldock. With hundreds of trees,
many that line the fairways, Sherwood Forest demands
accuracy off the tee. Besides narrow landing areas,
you will also encounter the Kings River on several
holes. From Fresno (about 19 miles east to the
course): Off Highway 99, take Kings Canyon (Highway
180) east. Turn left on Frankwood Avenue and drive
one mile to the club. This is a great short, tight
design, with greens the speed of the average fringe.
Fun but frustrating. Cheap and a neat location.

Designed by Joe
Williams. Bogey isn't always a bad score, especially
here. Shorecliffs is a tight, difficult course that
winds in and out of canyons. The trick to scoring
here is keeping the ball in play and out of the
lateral hazards. Distance is not an issue (but check
out the slope rating), so use your favorite 200-yard
club off the tee, the one you can hit straight.
There are no green-side bunkers. If you can hit the
small greens in regulation, birdie is a real
possibility. Carts are included in green fees. From
Irvine (about 25 miles south to the course): Take
the San Diego Freeway (I-405) south to I-5 south,
exit at Camino Estrella, and turn left. Turn right
on Avenida Vaquero. The course is on the right.
