Designed by Lawrence Hughes. This is a
links-style course that features ocean views on
every hole. Although not long, it is not easy,
either. Native vegetation lurks outside the
fairways, happily consuming errant golf balls. If
you land near the airstrip bordering the course, you
receive a free drop. From Garberville (about 22
miles west to the course): Off US 101 head west 22
miles (to Shelter Cove) on Briceland/Shelter Cove
Road. Turn right onto Upper Pacific Drive. The
course is on the right.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus. Built on the site of
the original Robin Hood movie and the M.A.S.H TV
show, this Nicklaus design is dominated by its oaks,
surrounding homes, and hillside views. It has been
the scene of several TV-oriented golf competitions.
A Nicklaus par-3 course will eventually be added.
From downtown Los Angeles (about 40 miles northwest
to the course): Take US 101 north into the Valley.
Exit at Westlake Boulevard, turn left, and go about
two miles. Turn right on Potrero Road and go about
another two miles. Turn left into the brick entrance
at Trentwood Drive. Ostentatious and glitzy, this is
one of Nicklaus's better California layouts. Golf is
a rich man's game here.
