Designed by David Rainville. Generous fairways and large, bold bunkering is purposely reminiscent of the Great Sand-Belt course of Australia. The Faldo Golf Institute adjoins the facility. From San Diego (about 38 miles north to the course): Take I-5 north to Highway 78 east and drive toward Vista. Exit Sycamore and turn right. Turn right on Shadowridge Drive and then right at Gateway Drive.

Designed by Tom Fazio. This long, par-71 Fazio design is routed behind crops of boulders. Shady Creek and East Shady Creek run through Shady Canyon. The course changes elevatrons through­out. It is a habitat-sensitive course located on 299 acres. Members and guests only. iIi From within Irvine: Off the San Diego Freeway (I-405), exit at Shady Canyon Drive and head west to the golf club. The remarkable aspect of this course is its pristine, isolated feeling yet it is only minutes way from the Irvine hustle and bustle, and homes don't intrude on the experience.
