Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. located in the Sierra foothills, Serrano features small hills, and fairways that are outlined by large native oaks. The landing areas are fairly generous, but water comes into play on six holes. The greens break toward Folsom lake. Reciprocal play with other members-only clubs is allowed. From Sacramento (about 25 miles east to the course): Take US 50 east. Exit at EI Dorado Hills Boulevard and drive north to Serrano Parkway. Turn right and travel east to the course.

Designed by Harry Rainville, David Rainville. This course is level, in a parklike setting with friendly tree-lined fairways. Water comes into play on a few holes. The course can be managed by golfers of all skill levels. From Riverside (about 40 miles southeast to the course): Take I-10 east to Highway 79 south. Go through the town of Hemet and turn left on Stetson. Turn right on Lyon Avenue, to the course.
