Designed by Robert Muir Graves. Located along the coast, this is a challenging Scottish-style course with excellent ocean views. Sea Ranch is unprotected from the ocean breezes, and the fairways are outlined by native grasses and plants. Translation: Bring lots of golf balls. Stay-and-play packages are available. From Bodega Bay (about 40 miles north to the course): Follow Highway 1 north to Sea Ranch. The course is on the left. Enjoyable and unpretentious and requires some local knowledge to score well. The drive up the coast is winding and spectacular.

Designed by unknown. This short chip-and-jab course is a great place for juniors to learn the game. From west Los Angeles (about 17 miles south to the course): Take the San Diego Freeway (I-405) south, exit at Hawthorne Boulevard and go south. Turn right on Sepulveda. Turn left on Reynolds and then left on Lupine Drive.
