Designed by Lawrence Hughes. This popular muni course is open and rolling with scattered trees. The greens vary in size and slope and are guarded by traps that can easily be avoided. Out­of-bounds can come into play around the perimeter of the course. Kikuyu grass in the fairways makes this course play longer. From within Santa Barbara: Exit US 101 at Las Positas Road and drive east for almost a mile to McCaw Avenue. Turn left and go one-quarter mile to the club.

Designed by Robert Muir Graves. One of Northern California's busiest courses, Santa Clara features mildly rolling fairways, large greens, and is open and susceptible to the wind. From San Jose (about six miles north to the course): Take US 101 north and exit onto Great America Parkway. Make a right on Tasman Drive, and the course is on the left.
