Designed by Clark Glasson. Trees and homes frame the layout, which features many doglegs, most of which favor the player who can work the ball left to right. From Walnut Creek (about 15 miles south to the course): Take I-680 south. Exit at Alcosta Boulevard and go east. Turn left on Fircrest Lane.

Designed by Ted Robinson. The course is surrounded by homes. They can be a factor, mostly on the front nine. Many of the fairways are lined by trees, and four lakes come into play on 14 holes. The narrow landing areas on a few holes require accurate tee shots. The greens can be on the fast side. San Vincente Inn has 28 rooms. From San Diego (about 32 miles northeast to the course): Take I-8 east to Highway 67 north. Follow Highway 67 to Dye Road. Turn right on Dye Road and take another right on San Vicente Road. Drive another two miles to the club, on the left.
