Designed by David Rainville, Harry Rainville. This is a straightforward and fairly hilly course, with plenty of trees and some water. To score well here, you will need to remember to use one extra club on the uphill holes, or you will find yourself in one of the many green-side bunkers. Wind on the back nine can be a factor. Carts are required Thursday through Sunday mornings. From Irvine (about 20 miles south to the course): Take the San Diego Freeway (I-405) south to I-5 south to San Juan Capistrano. Exit at Camino Capistrano and turn right. Take another right on San Juan Creek Road. The course is on the right.

Designed by Fred Couples, Gene Bates. A good design, challenge, scenery and ambience all contribute to what has become one of Northern California's more popular public-access courses. From San Jose (about 45 miles south to the course): Go south on US 101. Exit onto Highway 156 east toward Hollister. About seven miles east, turn right on Union Road. The club is on the right. One of the few courses where the red tees actually help. A good course for women to place a few wagers with their spouses.
