William P. Bell. Endlessly rolling fairways and
interesting, well-conditioned greens make this one
of California's quiet gems. From San Diego (about 12
miles south to the course): Take I-5 south to the L
Street exit. Go east just over a mile to the club.
From I-805 heading south, take the Telegraph Canyon
Road/L Street exit. Drive west one mile to the club.

Designed by
Jeff Brauer. Seventy-five-year-old men can shoot par
here, while 25-year-old men struggle to break 100.
Why? With narrow tree-lined fairways, rough that is
constantly over two inches, and a hilly back nine
that creates uneven lies, the emphasis is on
accuracy. Also, those 75-yearold men probably won't
tell you, but the greens tend to break away from the
mountains and will punish the player who leaves the
ball above the hole. . From downtown Los Angeles
(about 33 miles east to the course): Take the
Pasadena Freeway (I-110) north to the Foothill
Freeway (I-210) east, almost to the end. Take the
San Dimas Avenue exit and turn left. Turn right on
Foothill Boulevard and left on San Dimas Canyon
Road. Take a left on Terrebonne Avenue to the club.
