Designed by Ted Robinson Sr, Ted Robinson Jr. There
are three nines: Mission, Presidio, and Friars. All
three nines feature rolling fairways, the San Diego
River, waterfalls, and well-protected, undulating
greens. The longest combination is the
Friars-Presidio nines. The yardage listed
is for the Friars-Presidio nines. Formerly the
Stardust Country Club, the course once hosted the
PGA Tour in the '50s and '60s. Carts are included in
the price of the green fees. From within San
Diego: Take I-8 east, exit on Hotel Circle and head
east. Go north on Fashion Valley Road. The club is
on the left. The courses won't knock your socks
off, but they are nice middle-of-the-road layouts.

Tel: (310) 459-5395
Designed by George
C. Thomas, Jr. The Riviera is one of the West's true
championship layouts. This historic course plays in
a canyon among the eucalyptus and features the
tough, thick Kikuyu
grass and high-lipped George Thomas
bunkers. Reciprocal play with other members-only
clubs is allowed. From west Los Angeles (about
six miles northwest to the course): Take the San
Diego Freeway (I-405) north. Exit at Sunset
Boulevard and head west. Turn left on Capri Drive.
If you hit the ocean, you have
gone too far.
