some coyotes on this short, executive course. Rio
Bend has a lake that comes into play on two holes.
The greens are
good
sized and mildly sloped. The road
nearby creates out-of-bounds. Rio Bend has over 500 sites and prides itself on
being the friendliest and cleanest RV resort in
Southern California. From EI Centro: Take I-8
west, exit on Drew Road, and head south. This is
west of the town of EI Centro.

Designed by Robert Muir Graves.
Set near the Sierra foothills, this course has
constant elevation changes and considerable
mounding, so level lies are far and few between. The
greens are odd shapes and surrounded by angles and
rough. Miss them and you'll need luck to get up and
down. On the putting surface, you will find the
greens can break any direction, including uphill. If
you hit the ball long and wrong, (left to right) you
might as well stay at home; you will out-of-bounds
all day. Reciprocal play with other members-only clubs is
allowed. From within Bakersfield: Off Highway
99, take Highway 178 east and drive 15 miles to the
Rio Bravo Resort. Go past the airport and turn
right on Mira Monte.
