Designed by Robert
Trent Jones Jr, Hale Irwin (Hills Course). The Lakes
Course has generous fairways, gigantic bunkers (lots
of them) and large, quick, undulating greens. Use
the GPS system on the carts; it will help you choose
the correct club to hit into the deep greens. The
members-only Hills Course is one of the few Hale
Irwin designs
around. You will find the fairways generous and the
greens well protected and small. To be successful
here, bring your best Hale Irwin iron game. The
Lakes Course is open to the public, while the Hills
Course remains member-only. The yardage is for the
Lakes Course. Red Hawk offers vacation villas. From Reno
(about 17 miles
northeast
to
the course): From I-80 take Exit 21, Vista Road, and
turn left and go north. Go about seven miles until
it ends, and turn left on Wingfield Blvd. This leads
straight to the course. Red Hawk combines fun
golf with great service, which makes it a favorite
among visiting golfers. A must-play for women
golfers. It's challenging but you can score well.
