is a flat course with water on every hole. The
greens are sloping and undulating. From Redding
(about ten miles east to the course): take I-5 north
to Highway 44 and head east. Go about eight miles to
Silver Bridge Road and make a left. The course is on
the left.

Designed by George C. Thomas, Jr. This is a
traditional golf course with beautiful views, wide
tree-lined fairways, and small greens that require a
surgeon's touch. Wind does come into play. Although
the obstacles are straightforward, course knowledge
is the key to scoring well. The placement of your
shots off the tee and fairway to green may be the
difference between birdie and bogey. This is a
member-only course on weekends. From west Los
Angeles (about 20 miles south to the course): Take
the San Diego Freeway (I-405) south to the Hawthorne
Boulevard exit. Go south about six miles and turn
right on Palos Verde Drive North. Turn left at Via
Campesina. Go onequarter mile to the club on the
right. The best bargain for an ocean-side course in
California if you are Palos Verdes resident. For
those of us who pay full fare this is a great
course, but for $205, you could drive north and play
Sandpiper for half the cost.
