PALO ALTO GOLF COURSE

Designed by William Bell, Jr, Robert Trent Jones
Jr (remodel). If every course were this driver
friendly, the world would be beautiful place. The
layout features super-size fairways. The greens are
large with subtle breaks. To score well, you will
have to carry a big stick and club up when hitting
into the greens. The course plays long, and you will
encounter plenty of wind. From San Francisco (about
35 miles south to the course): Take US 101 south to
Palo Alto and exit at Embarcadero Road east. Follow
Embarcadero Road east to the golf course. Public
courses like this one are good for the community and
fun to play. We wish there were more of them,
especially in this area.

Designed by Clark Glasson, Neil Meagler
(remodel). A proficient driver is an asset on this
rolling course with tree-lined tee boxes that open
up slightly along the fairways. Once in the fairway,
you will have to contend with elevated greens that
vary in size and undulation. If accuracy isn't your
thing, we suggest you enjoy the view of the San
Francisco Bay from one of the many hills. From San
Jose (about 20 miles northwest to the course): Take
I-280 north. Exit on Page Mill Road, and head west
toward the mountains. Turn right on Alexis Drive,
and the club is on the right.
