Designed by Ted Robinson. This is a par-3 course with lakes and nice greens and is part of a gated community. This may be the only course in the desert that doesn't have carts, let alone make you rent one. From downtown Los Angeles (about 130 miles east to the course): Take I­10 east, exit at Washington Street, and head south. Turn left on Fred Waring Drive to the course entrance. Palm Royale is a great place to bring the kids for fun day of golf. For the lower handi­cappers, it is also a chance to work on your short game.

Designed by Joe Kirkwood. This is a typical, older, parkland-style course set in the desert with wide, level fairways and mature trees. The course often closes in late spring until fall. Carts are included in the green fees. From downtown Los Angeles (about 110 miles east to the course): Take I-10 east, exit Palm Drive, and turn right. This turns into Gene Autry Trail. Make a right on Vista Chino and then another right on Whitewater Club Road.
