Designed by Tom Donahue, Hiram Sibley. There are a lot of parallel holes on Old River, yet each hole has a unique challenge. This is not an easy course, with water coming into play on all but one hole. Around the greens, there is little room for error. The greens are various shapes and sizes, many with lots of undulations. If the new nine holes are not complete by the time you read this course listing, they will be shortly. From Stockton (about 20 miles southwest to the course): Take I-5 south to I-205 west. Exit at MacArthur Drive and head north. Follow MacArthur Drive to the course.

 

OLIVAS PARK GOLF COURSE (1969)

Designed by William F. Bell. This is a spacious layout with plenty of parallel fairways and large undulating greens. You will find water on about one-third of the holes. Olivas Park is nothing fancy, just straightforward golf. From Santa Barbara (about 33 miles southeast to the course): Drive south on US 101 to the Seaward exit in Ventura. Turn left on Harbor Road and go three miles to Olivas Park Drive. Turn left and drive 100 yards toward the course.
