This flattish course is dotted with some majestic
oaks, but the real story is the artfully shaped and
contoured putting surfaces together with the
impressive bunkering that dictates the strategy
here. Very playable, easy to bogey, a challenge to
par. Morgan Creek does allow public play, but that
could change at any second. From Sacramento: Take
I-80
east to Highway 65 north. Exit at Pleasant Grove
Boulevard and head west. Turn left on Foothills
Boulevard and then make a right on Vineyard Road.
Take Vineyard Road to Morgan Creek Lane and then
turn left and one more left on St. Julien Way to the
course.
This is a long
and beautiful golf course. It may look old world,
but to score well you will need new world
technology.

Rainville. If you come to Morgan Run for an extreme
challenge, you are missing the point of being at a
peaceful resort. All three nines (North, East,
South) are flat, relatively short, and player
friendly. You must be a guest of the 90-room resort
to play the course. The yardage listed is for the
South and North nines. From San Diego (about 20
miles north to the course): Take I-5 north, exit at
Via de la Valle, and head east about three miles.
Driving down the backside of the hill, turn right on
Cancha de Golf. The North nine stands out easily as
the best. most challenging, and attractive.
