Designed by Max Behr. This level course has recently been renovated with new greens and three new lakes. Keep out of the fairway bunkers; they can be hazardous to your score. From down­town Los Angeles (about ten miles east to the course): Take the Pomona Freeway (Highway 60) east, exit on Garfield Avenue, and drive south for one block. Turn right on Via San Clemente, where there is a sign.

Designed by Max Behr. This is a tight, rolling course cut out of a hillside. With hilly, tree-lined fairways and small undulating greens, the key to scoring well is the capacity to hit a variety of shots from different angles and to keep the ball below the hole. It doesn't hurt if you putt well, either. At the end of your round, you will swear that this course is far longer than scorecard reads. Reciprocal play with other members-only clubs is allowed. From within Santa Barbara: Off US 101 north, take the Cabrillo Boulevard exit north, through the underpass, bearing right to Hot Springs Road. Turn left and drive one-quarter mile to Summit Road. Turn left to the club.
