Designed by Brian Schmidt, Lee Curley. No matter
which sets of tees you choose, you will find this to
be a handicap-friendly course surrounded by native
vegetation, wind-shaped sand dunes, and lots of
water. Mojave has a resort, RV parking, and casino.
Check out their website, it's
good.
From Laughlin (this is about 90 miles south of Las
Vegas): Take Needles Highway south. Exit at Aha
Macav Parkway and head east. The course is across
from the Avi Hotel and Casino.

Designed by John Harbottle. The Tony Lema Course
is a Scottish links in style, right down to the tons
of deep bunkers with three-to-four-foot faces. The
greens are fairly level with subtle breaks. On the
back nine, holes 15 through 17 play along the
water's edge. Wind can be a factor. Native areas
allow players a free drop. The popular executive
course is lined with mature trees. The course
features a two-tiered, lighted and heated driving
range. From San Francisco (about 20 miles southeast
to the course): Take I-80 east to I-880 south. Exit
on Marina Boulevard and head west. Marina Boulevard
becomes Neptune Drive. Although the price is right
and the design is unique course maintenance has been
inconsistent. With so many other choices now
available, playing here will only reinforce the
notion that golfers will tolerate poor playing
conditions for a cheap round of golf.
