unknown. McCloud is a walk-able, scenic course with
tree-lined fairways, plenty of water and views of
Mount Shasta from nearly every tee box. The course
is open April through November. The course was built
by the McCloud River Lumber Company and was a
company course. McCloud originally featured oiled
sand for greens. From Redding (about 75 miles north
to the course): Drive north on I-5. Then take the
Highway 89 exit and drive east to McCloud. Turn
right on Squaw Valley Road. The course is on the
right.

Designed
by Fred Bliss. This is a modern nine-hole course
with water on two holes. There is outof-bounds
throughout, but the challenge at Mcinnis Park is
fairway to green. The green sites are mounded and
the greens are undulating. To score well, you must
hit the greens in regulation
because getting up and down from off the greens is
not easy. This is a golf and entertainment
complex that includes a driving
range, miniature golf, and batting cages.
From San Francisco
(about 20 miles north
to the course): Take US 101 north and exit at Smith
Ranch Road/Lucas Valley Road. Stay to the right.
Smith Ranch Road dead-ends in the golf center's lot.
The food and service at the restaurant rate high
among local and visiting golfers.
