Designed by William F. Bell. Located in a
canyon, this is a hilly course where golfers will
encounter some forced carries. They will also have
to deal with trees and rough. For the first-time
player, it should be noted the greens are severely
undulating and that putts tend to break toward the
valley. From downtown Los Angeles (about 35 miles
east to the course): Take the Pasadena Freeway
(I-110) north to
I-210
east. When
I-210
ends, it becomes Foothill Boulevard. Turn left
(north) at Wheeler. At the top of the hill, turn
right on Golden Hills and then left on Stephens
Ranch
Road.

Designed by Bob Baldock. The course is
surrounded by eucalyptus trees. The front nine is
flat, while the back nine is rolling with small
greens and plenty of ice plant. Be prepared for the
wind and keep the ball below the hole at all costs.
Civilian play is allowed on a limited basis. From
Santa Barbara (about 60 miles northwest to the
course): Take US 101 north to Highway 1 north. Take
the Lompoc-Vandenberg exit north to Vandenberg AFB.
Drive to the main gate and go right. Drive about
four miles to San Antonio West and follow the signs.
It's almost worth joining the military.
