other members-only clubs is allowed. The course is
closed in October. From downtown Los Angeles (about
120 miles east to the course): Take I-10 east, exit
at Monterey Avenue, and head south. Turn left on
Country Club Drive. Turn right on Portola Avenue, to

Designed by Ted Robinson. The Marriott contains
two feel-good resort courses, the Palm and the
Valley. There are plenty of traps, palm trees, and
water along the way to keep you entertained. For the
most part, Desert Springs is forgiving, with open
fairways and large greens that reward
good
shots. For the average golfer who is
having a good day, a career score is possible. The
yardage listed is for the Palms Course. This is an
excellent resort complex with a great pool and night
club. Carts are included and mandatory. From
downtown Los Angeles (about 120 miles east to the
course): Take I-10 east, exit at Cook Street and
head south. Turn right on Country Club Drive to the
resort. Great resort fun, but for the serious golfer
there are many other choices in the desert for the
$155 prime-time green fee.
