Designed by Bert Stamps. Las
Vegas National is traditional in design, with
fairways lined with palm, olive, and pine trees. Off
the tee, the course is forgiving, but the greens are
well bunkered. Wind can increase the challenge
dramatically. This club was formerly known as Sahara
Country Club, Stardust Country, Del Webb Country
Club, and the Las Vegas Hilton. It has hosted PGA
and LPGA Tour events, including the Tournament of
Champions and 1996 Las Vegas Invitational. Tiger
Woods won his first professional event on this
course. From the Las Vegas Airport (about five miles
north to the course): Take Paradise Road heading
north. Turn right on Desert Inn Road and the course
is on the right. This traditional parkland course is
one of the best values in Las Vegas. Don't overlook
it.

Designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is a classic
Pete Dye design complete with railroad ties, pot
bunkers, and numerous natural hazards. There are no
parallel fairways on this course. The greens will
allow you to playa variety of shots (if you have
them). The Sun Mountain Course has many similarities
with Snow Mountain but has its own personality,
including wild flowers, water, and large greens. The
Wolf Course is a wolf in wolf's clothing. At 7,600
yards from the tips, miss the greens and the 149
slope may be your score. Carts are included and
mandatory. First-time players need to visit the well
designed website for tips. You will need them. From
the Las Vegas Airport (about 25 miles east to the
course): Take US 95 north. Use Exit 95, Snow
Mountain, and turn right. Pauite can't be missed. It
is the only thing out there. Now three excellent
courses that are comparable to each other. Add the
superb service and it's worth the little jaunt to
play there.
