Designed by George C. Thomas. La Cumbre is surrounded by homes. The front nine features narrow fairways guarded by native oaks. The back nine has a lake that comes into play on five holes. Reciprocal play with other members-only clubs is allowed. From within Santa Barbara: Off US 101, exit at La Cumbre Road. Continue past the arched entrance to the Hope Ranch Park and Via Laguna. Turn left to the club.

Designed by William P. Bell. Another quiet gem, this rolling layout is fairly tight with some challenging targets and several outstanding holes. From San Diego (about ten miles north to the course): Take I-5 north and exit onto Ardath, which turns into Torrey Pines Road. Turn left on Girard Street, then left again on Pearl. Turn right on High Avenue to the club.
