Cochran. She took over the mantle as the leading
woman pilot after the disappearance of Amelia
Earhart. The course played host to many celebrities
and dignitaries of the time. A wall in the clubhouse
is dedicated to the history of the course. The
yardage listed is for the Indian/Mountain Course.
There are 59 rooms, conference rooms, and fitness
center as well as a pool.

Indian Ridge has the Grove Course and the Arroyo
Course. The Grove course is more of a traditional
desert course with plenty of water and palm trees.
The Arroyo Course has a high-desert feel, with some
forced carries and large natural waste bunkers. Both
layouts have large, undulating green sites. The
yardage listed is for the Grove Course.
From downtown Los Angeles (about 130 miles east to
the course): Take I-10 east, exit at Cook Street,
and head south. Turn left on Country Club Drive. The
club is on the right, just past EI Dorado.
