The greens are crowned. From Sacramento (about 25 miles northeast to the course): Drive east on I-80. Take the Rocklin Road exit and turn right. Follow Rocklin Road to Barton Road, and turn left and drive to the course.

INDIAN HILLS GOLF CLUB (1965)

INLAND EMPIRE REGION

Public - 18 hole -cost: $22 - $47

5700 Club House Drive, Riverside, CA 92509

Tel: (951) 360-2090

Designed by Harold Heers, Jim Powell. This is a hilly course with homes lining both sides of the fairway and an array of trees to keep your ball from reaching its final destination. The tee boxes are elevated, and the ball tends to kick toward the river, so missing the fairway on the wrong side could prove costly. There are two lakes that come into play. Very few people walk this course, so carts are included in the green fees. From within Riverside: Off the Pomona Freeway (Highway 60), exit at Pedley Street and go south about four to five miles. Turn left on Limonite and again left on Clay Street. Turn right on Lakeside and look for signs.
