FURNACE CREEK GOLF COURSE

DESERT REGION
Resort - 18
hole -cost:
$30 - $55
Highway 190 , Death Valley, CA 92328
Tel: (760) 786-2301
Designed by William P. Bell,
Perry Dye (restoration). Furnace Creek is 214 feet
below sea level and is the lowest course in the
world. Because of the lack of altitude, the ball
does not carry well, so remember to club up. Believe
it or not, there are plenty of trees on the course,
and water comes into play on six holes. Furnace
Creek has two full-service resort hotels. From Las
Vegas (about 120 miles northwest to the course):
Take Blue Diamond Highway 160 to Pahrump. Pass
through Pahrump and take a left on Bellevista
Avenue, to the Death Valley junction. Follow this to
Stateline Road 190; it's 30 miles to Furnace Creek
Ranch Resort. Everyone needs to experience Death
Valley, and if you truly want to educate yourself on
the variety of courses available to you in
California, you must play the lowest course in the
world.
