18300 Tarzana Drive, Tarzana, GA 91356

Tel: (818) 345-2221

Designed by Bill Johnson, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. (redesign). Tight, tree-lined fairways, fast greens, and water make this a challenging course tee to fairway and fairway to green. From downtown Los Angeles (about 21 miles northwest to the course): Take US 101 north, exit on Reseda Boulevard, and go south. After crossing Ventura Boulevard, turn left on Tarzana Drive. The club is on the right.

EL CAMINO COUNTRY CLUB (1953)

SAN DIEGO REGION

Members only - 18 hole

3202 Vista Way, Oceanside, GA 92056

Tel: (760) 757-0321

Designed by William H. Johnson. There are generous landing areas at EI Camino, but there is trouble in the form of trees and out-of-bounds if you can't hit the ball fairly straight. The good news is the out-of-bounds generally does not affect the golfer who hits the ball left to right. The greens are big and undulating. Get by the long par 4s and the rest is downhill. Reciprocal play with other members-only clubs is allowed. From San Diego (about 36 miles north to the course): Take I-5 north to Highway 78 east in Oceanside. Take the EI Camino Real exit and head north. Turn right (east) on Vista Way. Turn into the Days Inn parking lot. The club is located behind Days Inn.
