Designed by Gary Roger Baird. Eagle Glen is a
scenic, well-conditioned course featuring elevation
changes along the fairways and on the greens. The
fairways are wide, accommodating golfers who don't
have complete control of their oversized,
stiff-shafted, $600 drivers. Your green fees include
a cart. The course has the largest all-grass driving
range in Southern California. From Riverside (about
17 miles southwest to the course): Take Highway 91
west to I-15 south. Exit on Cajalco Road and go
right up the hill. Go about two miles and follow the
signs to the clubhouse. The course is great fun, but
the last three golfers who attempted to walk this
course have not been back seen since. OK, that's a
lie, but this is not a course where any sane
individual would want to carry his bag.

Designed by Ron Fream, Johnny Miller. The holes
against the hillside are breathtaking and the
bunkering is distinctively bold and attractive. The
greens, with their speed and undulations, are
perhaps the most challenging of any public course in
Northern California. Carts are mandatory on weekend
mornings. Check their website for tournament info
and golf packages. From San Jose (about 30 miles
south to the course): Go south on US 101. Exit on
Masten and turn right. Go about one mile and turn
left on Santa Teresa Boulevard. Go about four miles
south and Club Drive is on the right. If George
Archer says these are the toughest greens in
California, you'd better believe him - great fun for
those looking for a challenge but may be too severe
a course for the average hacker.
