Designed by Jack Neville. Small greens and solid shot making are requirements at this venera­ble East Bay club, considered one of the area's best tracks. Reciprocal play with other members­only clubs is allowed. From Walnut Creek (about 14 miles south to the course): Take I-680 south. Exit on EI Cerro Boulevard and head east about three miles. The brick wall entrance is on the left. Squirrelly drivers rejoice. You can actually have some decent shots into the greens if you miss the fairways in the right places.

Designed by Bob Baldock. This popular municipal course features five lakes on the more open front side and then delves into the trees for a challenging back nine. Wind can also be a factor. Diablo Creek offers a lighted driving range. From Walnut Creek (about six miles north to the course): Take I-680 north to Highway 242. Exit Port Chicago Highway north. Loop under the, free­way, and the course is on the right.
