Designed by Clark Glasson. This short, par-50 course is popular for beginners, but its narrow fairways and small greens can be deceptively difficult even for the better player. From San Jose (about ten miles northwest to the course): Take I-280 north. Exit onto Foothill Expressway and turn left. Go one and one-half miles and turn left on McClellan Road. Turn right on Clubhouse Lane.

Designed by Andy Raugust. Miniature by today's standards, DeerRidge is a throwback course that will test your mind, rather than just fraying your nerves. Located on rolling terrain, surrounded by grassy hillsides, dotted with oak trees and well-placed bunkers, DeerRidge will not take the driver out of your hand, but will require that golfers be adept with the other 14 clubs in the bag. From San Francisco (about 55 miles east to the course): Take I-580, east to Vasco Road, north. Take Vasco into Brentwood and turn left on Balfour Road. Proceed on Balfour (west) and turn left on  Foothill Drive. Look for DeerRidge on the right.
