Designed by Brian Curley, Lee
Schmidt, Fred Couples. Dramatic elevation changes
provide exciting challenges and vistas at this
residential private club. This is largely
hillside/canyon golf with young trees planted on the
borders. The layout is very versatile with generous
fairways, and most greens will accept a run-up
approach. The greens have lots of break and pose a
challenge. Sprawling bunkers make both a visual and
strategic impact. Reciprocal membership with other
clubs is accepted. From San Diego (about 20 miles
north to the course): Take I-5 north to Via de la
Valle. Take Via de la Valle east to Paseo Delicias.
Turn right to Del Dios Highway. The property is on
the right side. Make another right on Bing Crosby
Boulevard. The layout can be enjoyed by all levels
of players, though carts are a necessity.

Designed by Arthur Hills. Cross Creek uses the
rolling landscape and mature oaks, lakes, and
natural hazards to create a classic course that
appears to have been around for decades. Don't be
surprised if you see some of golf's greatest players
roaming around the clubhouse. No, they aren't
ghosts, just staff, each dressed to play the part of
a famous, legendary golfer. From downtown Los
Angeles (about 90 miles southeast to the course):
Take Highway 60 east to I-15
south. Exit at Rancho California Road
and head west. Turn left on De Luz Road and then
left again on Via Vaquero Road, to the course. A
pretty engaging layout for the better player, but
some severe green sites and carries may prove too
much for the average golfer.
