awaits you immediately off the fairways on this
attractive, hilly, and well-bunkered course. Green

(about six miles north to the course): Take Highway
57 north. Exit at Yorba Linda Boulevard and go west.
Turn right on State College Boulevard. Turn left on
Bastanchury Road and then left on Payne Stewart
Drive. From the tips, the course boasts some
exhilarating, and sometimes intimidating, tee shots.
This is a good, challenging layout.
COYOTE MOON GOLF COURSE

HIGH SIERRA REGION
Public:
18 hole -cost:
$85 - $135
10685 Northwoods Boulevard, Truckee,
CA 96161
Tel: (530) 587-0886
Designed by Brad Bell. Coyote Moon is an upscale
daily-fee course with no homes surrounding the
property. The fairways are generous, with granite
outcroppings found throughout. The fairways have a
funnel effect as you approach the medium-sized
greens. The greens are well protected by sand,
water, and trees. At 6,800 feet above sea level,
expect to get up to ten percent more distance on
each shot. Season typically runs May through
October. For a short while, they tried out the name
Pine Ridge, but fortunately they have returned to
Coyote Moon.
From Sacramento (about
100
miles northeast to the course); Take I-80 east to
the Donner Pass Road exit. Turn left onto Donner
Pass Road, and drive one-half mile to the first
light. Take a left on Northwoods Boulevard. The golf
course is on the right. Must play, must play, must
play.
