COTO DE CAZA GOLF & RACQUET CLUB (1987)

ORANGE COUNTY REGION

Members only - 36 hole

25291 Vista del Verde, Coto de Caza, CA 92679

Tel: (949) 858-2770

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, Johnny Miller. The South Course is the shorter, less difficult of the club's courses, provided you are accurate. It is, nonetheless, fun and tough enough to keep your attention. The formidable North Course begins with one of the toughest opening par 5s in America, and the challenge never lets up. Diabolic greens, narrow fairways, and length will push you to your limits. The yardage listed is for the North Course. From Irvine (about 22 miles southeast to the course): Off the San Diego Freeway (I-405), exit on Highway 133 northeast, heading away from the ocean. Take Highway 241 southeast, veering right toward Santa Margarita. Exit at Antonio and turn left. Turn right into the gates of Coto de Caza. A long and difficult layout coupled with a short, tight layout gives this facility the best of both challenges.

COTTONWOOD GOLF CENTER (1966)

INLAND EMPIRE REGION

municipal - 9 hole -cost: $8 - $9

13671 Frederick Street Moreno Valley, CA 92553

Designed by unknown. Cottonwood is a pitch-and-putt course with one par 4. From Riverside (about 11 miles east to the course): Take Highway 60 east. Exit at Frederick Street and turn right (south). It is on the right side, after the fifth light.
