Designed by Jack Nicklaus. This refined, manicured links-style is one of the most engaging layouts in the Coachella Valley. Even though it occupies an essentially flat site, this playable Jack Nicklaus design provides many entertaining options. From downtown Los Angeles (about 1 20 miles east to the course): Take I-10 east, exit at Ramon Road, and turn right. Turn left on Bob Hope Drive and then right on Country Club Drive. Turn right on Morningside Drive, and the club entrance is on the left. Really enjoyed this low-mounding, understated Scottish look that Nicklaus employed here, a refreshing departure from his normal bulldozing style of design.

Designed by Norman Wren. This is a user-friendly layout with an alpine setting, situated 3,000 feet above sea level. The course has decent-sized fairways, but miss them, and you will find your­self in the trees, or worse yet, out-of-bounds. There is a creek running throughout and the greens are small. This course was formerly known as Hoberg's Forest Lake Golf & Country Club. From Napa (about 70 miles north to the course): Drive north on Highway 29 to Highway 175. Take Highway 175 north to Cobb. Golf Road is on the right.
