Designed by Jack Barry, Johnny Miller. Chardonnay has three nines, the Lakes, Meadows, and Vineyards. All three courses use the natural terrain, working vineyards, creeks, barrancas, and wind to create a substantial challenge. The course some of the most unusual green sites in California. The yardage listed is for the Vineyards Course. Green fees include carts. From within Napa: Off Highway 29, take Highway 12 east. Go about one and one-half miles, and the course is on the right. The course is located on Highway 12 between Highway 29 and I-80. Chardonnay is fun and easy to get to from the Bay Area, Sacramento, or the wine country. Getting from tee to green is another story.

Designed by Del Webb. Cherry Hills is part of a senior community. The fairways are lined with homes and dotted with trees. The greens are large and user friendly. From Riverside (about 25 miles southeast to the club): Take I-215 south. Take the McCall exit. Turn left on Bradley and then right on Cherry Hills Boulevard. The club is on the left.
