Designed by Dick Phelps. An LPGA Tour stop, the course has a wonderful routing along streams and natural outcroppings. To score well here, you must hit your fairways. Catta Verdera was once known as Twelve Bridges Golf Club and has hosted several LPGA events. The course will be going fully private at some point. The course is open to the public on Monday and some afternoons. From Sacramento (about 30 miles northeast to the course): Take Highway 65 north off I-80. Take Twelve Bridges Drive east to the course. Play it while you can.

Designed by Robert Muir Graves. Canyons, oak trees, narrow fairways, and sloping greens are just a few of the obstacles at Chalk Mountain. The course is not long in today's graphite and titanium world, but provides ample challenge, especially for golfers with little course experience. From San Luis Obispo (about 17 miles north to the course): Drive north on US 101. Exit at Santa Rosa and turn right. At EI Camino Real, turn left. Then make an immediate right onto EI Bordo Road. The golf course is at the end. The most underrated course of the area, it's short, but semi-tight, with lots of elevation change, but tough greens to putt. A good value for the locate.
